The Journey

For us, it all started with a journey; a journey to find high quality, handmade, all-wood custom cabinetry. We wanted cabinetry in which you could see the attention to detail and the love and care that went into building each and every piece. We envisioned the timeless quality that makes you want to touch the cabinet. We desired an almost limitless choice of styles and unique finish options, all of which could help us create anything a client might dream of having.

We knew exactly what we wanted in terms of style and quality materials, particularly cabinetry. Problem was, purchasing the all-wood custom cabinetry we wanted from sources here in Knoxville was far outside our price point ideas. 

Impossible you say? We were starting to think so.

My wife reads a lot of books about the Amish culture and talks about the craftsmanship they talk about in the books. So, we were passing through Amish country on a return trip from visiting family in Minnesota, it occurred to us that a solution might lie in Amish country. We found ourselves in the workshop of an Amish cabinetmaker, and we were amazed at the quality and care with which they crafted each piece.  We were mesmerized by the beautifully crafted solid all wood pieces all around us. When they priced out some custom kitchen cabinets for us, we were amazed again, this time by the affordability of these gorgeous cabinets.

It was the beginning of a wonderful partnership and friendship. Amish custom designed cabinets are the pride and joy of our custom cabinetry company and the jewel of most every kitchen we design at Sticks 2 Stones Design.

Your Amish Select kitchen cabinets start off with your thoughts and ideas. Usually we work with your drawings or our designer’s drawings to produce our shop drawings. Before we build your kitchen cabinets, we will ask you several questions to make sure that our experience gives you the best fit and function to meet your specific needs. We can provide matching display cabinets, bookshelves, fireplace mantles, entertainment centers or custom furniture for your home. We believe that you should be able to think outside of the box, so there is no reason or need for you to try to fit your needs into a production kitchen cabinet.
